Generating Insights

An important feature of the DonorScape® platform is that it enables the Advancement leadership, the major gift officer managers, and other personnel to gain a better understanding of the overall composition of the organization’s prospect pool, and also helps the team derive actionable information from the data.

This functionality is accessible from the Generate Insights page: 

Generating Insights

Insight Reports are pre-defined, prompted reports that guide you in the discovery and implementation of best practices in prospect pool management. Each report contains a detailed explanation that includes recommendations on how it is to be used. Filters and prompts allow you to drill further into the most actionable insights.

To access and run reports:

  1. Click the navigation bar (top of screen) to go to the Generate Insights page.
  2. Click a green tab to select the type of report you want to generate:

    Note: Report menu varies, depending on your DonorScape® options.
  3. To focus on prospects with a specific relationship to your organization (such as alumni, ticket buyers, trustees, or parents), click the box for Filter by relationship and select the relationship.
  4. To include all prospects from your database, click All prospects.  Or select prospects based on whether or not they are assigned to a solicitor (as indicated by the Assigned Solicitor text field). Click Only assigned or Only unassigned.
  5. Click Generate Report.

The report is downloaded in PDF format.
